MICRAFLO PIGMENTS - 38 Series : Technical Information
Standard Micraflo is non – lubricating, as are dry pigments, whereas wax based dispersions lubricate leading to a marked decrease in specific torque and pressure with increased loading. With Micraflo, however, it is possible to modify the carrier composition to achieve behaviour anywhere between that of dry pigment and wax based dispersions, thus ensuring that the desired rheology can be maintained independent of pigment loading.
Micraflo is based on a polymeric carrier with slight wall stick behaviour, similar to that of an acrylic process aid. This promotes homogenous gelation and consistent physical properties. In addition a polymeric carrier does not suffer migration under pressure common to most wax additives, which can lead to difficulties with subsequent foiling operations.
High Pigment Concentration
Micraflo is formulated to incorporate pigment concentrations upto 80 percent. Pigment level can be adjusted to suit individual customer requirements, satisfying appliction demands and equipment capabilities.
Dust – Free Colouring System
The dust free nature of Micraflo guarantees a cleaner manufacturing environment and improved workplace hygiene. This allows rapid colour change within mixing, metering, conveying and holding equipment.
Optimum Dispersions
Micraflo is pre – dispersed enabling rapid and uniform colouration within the polymer melt, with the greatest energy efficiency.
Enhanced Physical Properties
Tensile and impact properties are improved by the use of Micraflo. In window profile applications laminating properties are not adversely affected.
