Complex inorganic pigments provide UV opacity, which enhances the overall stability of exterior coatings, enabling long term improvements for colour retention and substrate protection.

They have excellent dispersibility achieving optimum development of colour strength, opacity and gloss.  Complex inorganic pigments can be blended with organic pigments to achieve bright, opaque colours and impart improved durability.

Plastics
Complex inorganic pigments are increasingly important in plastic applications due to their thermal and chemical stability.  This makes them universally compatible with all polymers and additives, even the most reactive, irrespective of processing temperatures and conditions:

·        Vinyls ( u-PVC, p-PVC )
·        Engineering polymers ( PC, PBT, PA, PET )
·        Styrenics ( ABS, SAN, ASA, PS )
·        Silicone Rubber

Cobalt blues and greens are 'first choice' pigments for injection and rotational moulding where warpage, shrinkage or nucleation are to be avoided and long term exterior durability is critical.

Complex inorganic pigments are used to impart opacity to translucent / transparent polymers.

Building Materials

Cobalt blue pigments play an important part in the colouration of  building materials.Their alkali resistance, lightfastness, weather resistance and non-migratory properties makes them the most durable blue colourant available for

the following building materials:

·        Concrete Roof Tiles
·        Grouting Mortar

Camouflage
Cobalt blues and greens are important components in Camouflage applications with specified infra-red reflectance.
