COLOURPLEX PIGMENTS - 34 Series : Introduction

As part of Johnson Matthey's extensive inorganic pigment portfolio, Colourplex / Complex Inorganic Pigments ( CIP ) represent a unique class of high performance colourants.

The excellent durability of Johnson Matthey's complex inorganic pigments makes them ideal for demanding applications in the plastics, surface coatings and building materials industries.

These pigments are homogenous mixed metal oxides produced by solid state chemical reaction at temperatures exceeding 1000 oC and are finely ground to controlled particle size and distribution. The calcination process produces the spinel structures of cobalt blues and greens and copper chrome blacks ; and the rutile structures of nickel and chrome titanate yellows. These crystal structures are highly stable and chemically inert thereby imparting superior resistance properties.

In masstone or tint, Johnson Matthey`s Colourplex pigments offer the advantage of high exterior durability. They are weather resistance, lightfast, heat stable, acid and alkali resistance, non-migratory and readily dispersible.
